Preserving Oakville History
The Peripheral Group Inc. is proud to call the old firehouse in downtown Oakville our home, with a big thanks to Albrecht & Tamindzic for the opportunity. This historic building, which dates back to the early 1900s, not only serves as a functional office space but also embodies the rich history and cultural significance of the community.
The journey to renovate this landmark, a property owned and built by MGM Design and Build, was not without its challenges. Securing the necessary approvals involved extensive consultations with the Town of Oakville’s heritage committee, municipal planning staff, and various stakeholders dedicated to preserving the area’s historical identity. The design aimed to enhance its original features while adapting the space to meet modern needs; a balance crucial in ensuring that the character and cultural significance of the old firehouse were maintained. Our team is honored for the chance to call this office home and are proud of MGM for their accomplishment.
Today, the old firehouse stands as a testament to Oakville’s heritage, blending the old with the new. It serves not only as a physical space for our operations but also as a reminder of the community's storied past. We look forward to being part of its history for years to come, as we continue to celebrate the unique character that makes Oakville so special.
